Come dressed to impress as your favorite superhero and join us for this open house event on January 27th, from noon to 3:00 pm in the Carrie Lee Gym. Superhero Sunday will feature games, crafts, and an opportunity to meet some of the local heroes who keep our town safe. No pre-registration will be taken for this event, but participants will be asked to sign in when they arrive. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please use the gym entrance just south of the Middle School on Winnebago Street. If wet or snowy please bring a change of shoes.
Ice Rink Remains Closed
Due to unseasonably warm temperatures the ice rink remain closed. Updates will be posted when conditions allow the rink to open for the season.
Free New Year’s Eve Bash
Join us for this fun, free, family friendly open house event in the 6:30-10:30pm Monday, December 31 in the Luther College Regents Center. The New Year’s Eve Bash will include open swimming, tennis, racquetball, basketball, pickleball, a bouncy house, and many other games and activities for all ages. Pizza, Gatorade, water and other snacks will be available for purchase. This event is sponsored by Decorah Bank & Trust and Gundersen Health System.
Please enter the Luther College Regents Center using the circle drive entrance on the west side of the building. No registration required, just show up.
Biddy Basketball Deadline is December 14
Friday, December 14, is the deadline to register for Decorah Park-Rec.’s Biddy Basketball Program. This popular activity for ages 3 to 6 years takes place at the Carrie Lee Elementary Gym on Saturday mornings, January 12 through February 2. Basic fundamentals of basketball are taught along with actual team competition. Each Saturday consists of a skills session followed by a game. Registration fee is $20 which includes a t-shirt.

36th Annual Turkey Shoot Results
110 people participated in the 36th Annual Decorah Park-Rec. Turkey Shoot on Monday, November 5. . This parent-child free throw contest was held in the high school gym, and sponsored by Quillin’s, Deco Products Company, Hovden Oil, Perry Novak Electric, T-Bocks Sports Bar & Grill, and Viking State Bank & Trust. 36th Annual Turkey Shoot is November 5
A free activity . . . just show up! In this fun family event, a parent and child team up, combine their ages to determine their competition bracket, and each shoot 10 free throws in an attempt to win a certificate for a free turkey. In addition, all teams are eligible for a prize drawing. The “shoot” will be held in the DHS Main Gym on Monday, November 5, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Winning teams will be posted on the Park-Rec. website and Facebook on Wednesday, November 7. Middle School Dodgeball Tournament Fri, Nov 2
Decorah 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to participate in the annual Middle School Dodgeball Tournament Friday, November 2 (a no school day). Students form their own teams and must turn in their registration forms and the $25 team registration fee in the Park-Rec Office by Tuesday, October 30. Registration forms are available from the Middle School P.E. teachers or may be found online by clicking the link below.

The Middle School Dodgeball Tournament will be held in the Carrie Lee gymnasium. Teams should arrive and check in by 8:45am Friday, November 2. The tournament will begin promptly at 9am and will finish around 12pm.

1st-6th Grade Basketball Registration due Fri, Oct 12
Registrations for Sharp Shooters (1st-3rd grade) basketball, Hoopsters (4th-6th grade) basketball, and adult volleyball and basketball leagues are due Friday, October 12. Registration can be completed online at https://www.activityreg.com/selectactivity_t2.wcs or in the Park-Rec Office.
Sharp Shooters is held Saturday mornings, November 10 thru December 8. Hoopsters is held Saturday mornings, November 3 thru December 8. Adult leagues are held various evenings throughout the week beginning in November and running through mid-March.

A fun, free, open house event for the whole family!
Join us in the parking lot behind the Fire Department on Saturday, October 6, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Kids will have the opportunity to explore their favorite vehicles including police, fire and emergency vehicles, construction equipment, and city maintenance vehicles. This event is hosted with the Fire Department in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, and includes a free hot dog lunch.
