The Iowa Department of Public Health has released new mitigation guidelines relating to the coronavirus disease, also known as COVID-19. The Decorah Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Decorah are working in cooperation with and following the direction of the Iowa Department of Public Health and Winneshiek Public Health. Governor Kim Reynolds announced the closure of Iowa PK-12 schools for four weeks beginning Monday, March 16. On Tuesday, March 17 Governor Kim Reynolds issued a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency effective at 12 noon Tuesday, May 17. This proclamation includes the closure of fitness centers, gyms and health spas. Decorah Schools will remain closed through at least Friday, April 10.

The following programs have been affected by the above announcements and recommendations.

Taekwondo– Suspended until further notice

Kindergarten thru 7th grade Soccer – Cancelled Saturday, April 4, T-shirt pick up postponed to Thursday, April 16 (please check your email if you are registered for this program)

Pee Wee Soccer– T-shirt pick up postponed to Thursday, April 16

Easter Egg Hunt  – Suspended until further notice
