The 42nd Annual Decorah Park-Rec. Turkey Shoot will be held in the Decorah High School Main Gym on Tuesday, November 12, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
In this fun family event, a parent and child team up, combine their ages to determine their competition bracket, and each shoot 10 free throws in an attempt to win a certificate for a free turkey. In addition, all teams are eligible for a prize drawing. Winning teams will be posted on the Park-Rec. website and Facebook page by 5:00 pm Wednesday, November 13. This is a free activity, no need to register, just show up!
This event is sponsored by Deco Products Company and Prairie Lakes Church. All turkeys are donated by Fareway here in Decorah!
Access to Decorah’s West Main Street parking lot is CLOSED for construction. The trail will remain open, but access to Dug Road/Trout Run Trail will be unavailable at this location until further notice. Please use alternative trail heads or access points at this time.
The City of Decorah will have Trick or Treating on Thursday, October 31st from 5:00pm-7:30pm.

The Decorah Area has a lot to offer when it comes to services for personal wellness, self care, and fitness as well as exceptional spaces for exercise outdoors and healthy lifestyle. Join us at Will Baker on Saturday, October 19th from 1:00pm-3:00pm for an afternoon of games, crafts and fun! We have partnered with Decorah Rocks who will provide supplies to craft your own unique rock, and then hide for other to find.
Come over to play a variety of yards games, freestyle color/drawing, hike Pulpit Rock, and you can craft your own Trick-or-Treat bag (while supplies last) for Pulpit Rock Campground’s Trick-or-Treat event (3:00pm-5:00pm) that same day!
Costumes are welcome and encouraged 🙂
Join us Saturday, October 19th for trick or treating at designated campsites within Pulpit Rock Campground. Campers will be identified by using caution tape!
This is a free, open house event runs 3:00pm – 5:00pm, and will also include yard games and popcorn.
Parking is limited at the Campground, additional parking is available at Will Baker Park.
Leave the gremlins at home and join us for an evening of pumpkin carving or painting, just in time for Halloween, all while enjoy Impact Coffee drinks specials!
Thursday, October 24th from 5:00-7:00pm at Impact Coffee, specials are $1 tap PBR and half-priced fall cocktails!
A variety of pumpkins will be available for participants to choose from to either carve or paint, then take home! You are welcome to bring your own pumpkin to Adult Recess as well.

Fall is harvest season and Decorah Parks and Recreation is hosting a Prairie Seed Harvest on Wednesday, October 16, beginning at 4:30pm in the Decorah City Prairie.
The public is invited to help collect seed for establishing prairie on other city properties.
