Decorah Municipal Pool- Closed for Season

Pool Update (8/12)
Decorah Municipal Pool Patrons:
We appreciate your use of the pool for lessons, classes, swim team, rentals and open swim. Due to the unexpected closures this season, unused “punches” on your 2025 Punch Passes will be honored in 2026 Pool Season. For 2025 Season Swim Pass Holders we have a proposal that will be sent through the proper channels for approval. In a few weeks, we will have an update on the status of that proposal for 2025 Season Passes.

Pool Update (8/11)

First and foremost, thank you again for your patience and understanding as we work to deliver updates about the pool. We greatly appreciate it! As you all know, the Decorah Pool is closed for the 2025 season. However, we will be moving Adult Lap Swim and Adult Aquacise to the Luther College Pool for the dates/ times listed below.

Procedures at Luther will be followed that are similar to the Decorah Pool. The only door to come in and out of the Luther pool is on the north side of the pool building. This door faces the large Regents Center parking lot on lower campus by the athletic fields.

Please note: Luther is under major construction and most of the building is completely gutted as they work towards major renovation. There will be only one bathroom for use, and NO locker rooms.

Please be on the lookout for more announcements this week.

August 12-15:

6AM-7AM Adult Lap Swim

11AM-1PM Adult Lap Swim. Aquacise class at 12PM.

August 18-22:

7AM-9AM Adult Lap Swim

11AM-1PM Adult Lap Swim. Aquacise class at 12PM.

Pool Update (8/8)
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to deliver information about the Decorah Municipal Pool closure. Unfortunately, staff discovered glass found at the bottom of our pool, in the gutters and on the pool deck on the evening of Thursday, August 7, which resulted in immediate closure.
The safety of our patrons is our #1 priority. Removing glass from a pool system is a lengthy process and needs to be done with extreme caution. Considering this and time it will take to drain, clean, and discard from our pool, refill, balance and get the pool in safe operating condition, a decision was made to close for the remainder of the season. The Parks and Recreation Department is assessing additional steps. Please check back for an update on Monday August 11th.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
