Decorah Swim Pool Opens June 29

The 2020 swim pool experience will be completely different in Decorah and across the nation.

The Decorah Municipal Swimming Pool will open for the 2020 season the week of June 29. The Decorah Parks and Recreation Department will follow guidance from the CDC and the Iowa Department of Public Health to protect swimmers, staff and patrons. Below is some additional information about what to expect when you arrive at the pool.

Lifeguards in water

Our lifeguards are trained and prepared to keep their eyes on the water. Please look for individuals in red pool ambassador shirts if you have questions or need assistance.

Tent at front of pool

You will notice a red tent at the top of the stairs before you enter the pool area. At that tent we will perform temperature checks and a brief health screening of all patrons. Red marking on the ground will help keep you 6 feet apart as you wait in line.

Circles painted on grass

Circles have been painted on the grass. These are meant to help you social distance when you are not in the water.

Red tape on water slide stairs

Red markings placed on the ground and stairs near the slide and diving boards are in place to help you social distance while waiting in line.
